Q. Are we a Diving Contractor?

A. Definitely not, we do not believe competing with our customers. Searchwise is a service support company that has an ethos to support diving companies.

 

Q. Is there a minimum rental period?

A. On small tools and equipment it is usually 5 days, on the larger systems it is usually 10 days. This is to ensure all the mob/demob and certification costs are recovered.

 

Q. Is there a mob/demob charge?

A. No, Searchwise believe that equipment should be ready for the customer to immediately go to work, therefore it is cost effective against the project without hidden extras.

 

Q. Deliveries and Collections – Can we use our own transport?

A. Searchwise are not in the road haulage business and subcontract 3rd party carriers whether road hauliers or couriers. We charge cost plus 15% as a handling charge. Should the customer wish to arrange their own transport, it is not a problem. However, we do not arrange return collection from sites, this is up to the customer to return equipment back to Ellon, using their own arrangements.

 

Q. Do we supply consumables like drill bits, grinding pads, NDT Ink etc?

A. Given sufficient time we can arrange this, either from stock or bought in. If the items are commonly used we offer them on sale or return basis and invoice only those that have been used.

 

Q. What happens if the equipment gets damaged?

A. On safe receipt, we acknowledge to the customer and highlight any visual damage with photographs within 24 hours. Thereafter we produce a detailed report with costings, usually within 3 days. Should the customer wish to view or dispute these we allow further 3 days prior to Searchwise making good the repairs, back to fit for purpose. This excludes ‘fair wear and tear’.
