Following the sale of the well known and highly respected Subspek Oceanics Ltd to Ashtead Plc in 1990, Howard Kelsall left and rather than attempt to compete with his own legacy, the commercial diving market was seen as an opportunity to return to the industry from which he originated way back in the 1960’s.
Searchwise proceeded to employ respected technicians and built up a reputation for safety, integrity, economy and response, which is still today the basis of the company philosophy.
From humble beginnings and a split location of engineering in England, sales and admin in Scotland, Searchwise, in 2000 united both locations into a customised unit in Ellon.
This major investment by Searchwise, in line with our recent EN. ISO 9000-2000 accreditation, allows a ‘one stop shop’ for all the contractors’ needs. We now have 10 dedicated and committed employees working with us and bring in additional specialist technicians when the need arises.
Our situation, close to Aberdeen, (“Capital of Energy" for Western Hemisphere) is ideal, offering us the local support of specialists and technical service companies at the cutting edge of underwater technology, with the added facilities of international airport, docks and excellent trunk roads South, West & North. Searchwise preferred carriers can deliver most items overnight to mainland UK and into Gatwick/Heathrow airport for overseas shipping next day.
